Idea Napkin No.1

1. Who am I?

My name is Brandon Ewing, and I am a freshman here at the University of Florida.  I believe that my talents reside in the areas of leadership, speech, creativity, and writing.  My aspirations for this business is to set up my clothing trucks on major college campuses across the country.  I would also love to see my clothes in major stores in every mall and outlet nationwide.  Stores such as H&M and Forever 21 would benefit from having my clothes in their stores.  My business would be my number one priority.  It would be my only source of income and I would be fully devote my time to the business.

2.  What are you offering to customers?

Ewear Clothing would provide high quality, low priced apparel for college students across the country.  These people would stand out from the everyday basic people on campus.  My clothing line as well as the clothing truck will provide a great experience for students to come to during the course of their day.

3.  Who are you offering it to?

My product is for the students who are aspiring to stand out from the rest of the crowd.  My customers will be the innovative, future leaders of the world.  I am providing this product for people who are like me.  I always have goals and strive to be different from the normal people of the world.

4.  Why do they care?

Customers will pay me for my product because it will be something that they've never seen before.  It will be entirely affordable as well.  Nowadays clothing is so expensive and definitely not affordable.  Students are on ver low budgets when they're away at school, I am trying to provide them with affordable clothing that they can feel comfortable wearing.

5. What are your core competencies?

I honestly feel as if I have the gift of success.  Throughout my life I have always worked hard to achieve my goals and I have fortunately been successful.  No one can bring me down once I set my mind to my goal.  I will instill this into the creation of my company and use my talents to create the best product that I can.

  1. Brandon- this is a great idea! Coming from the perspective of a broke college student, I would totally be willing to try this out. Forever 21 and H&M would be great stores to get started in considering they cater to many college aged groups!

  2. Hello Brandon,

I think that you have a really great idea with your concept of Ewear clothing. I definitely can’t argue with the fact that I would love to buy high-quality low priced clothing, and the clothing truck concept sounds really cool! I’m just curious what type of clothing you’re going to be selling, and by that I mean what style. Also, I think that the name Ewear is interesting because it makes your clothing idea sound like an online store. Overall, I think you did a really great job!

  3. Brandon,

I like the name of your brand. I am curious to know how the clothing truck would work and how these clothes would be picked up by traditional stores such as Forever 21 and H&M who usually sell straight out of their stores or online. Perhaps next time, you can walk the "customer (reader)" through what it would be like to come across your product. I think you have a great idea so far and with some improvement and thought it could be even better. The retail industry/fashion can be really tricky. The reason why clothes from Forever 21 and H&M and similar stores are so cheap is because of a) the cheaper quality of the fabrics, and b) the cheap labor costs. How will you do this, is my curiosity. It is one thing to offer really cheap stylish clothes, but typically another area has to be sacrificed. If you want to provide cheap clothes that are also good quality, you won't make much profit. If you want to make really good quality and stylish clothes and also make a good profit, labor will not be cheap. So these are just things to think about. Perhaps a cool idea would be to recycle old clothes from designers that have a bunch of overstocked items and create new clothes with those fabrics. Just a thought....! Good luck!
