Celebrating Failure

A few instances in which I can say I truly failed in this course were the times that I did not do the video assignments.  I regret not doing these various assignments because looking back at it now, I feel as if these video interviews would've helped me engage more with the market in which I was focused on getting approval from.  It was not until the last assignment that I chose to go out and take the videos of my customers speaking with me.  I handle failure by reflecting on what I did wrong that caused me to fail.  The key is to not dwell on this too much because then you dig yourself into a deeper hole that you will not be able to get yourself out of.  Once you figured out your mistakes you make a declaration to yourself that you will never make these mistakes again.  This class has definitely taught me that failure is okay.  Even though I failed to do some of the assignments I still learned a whole lot from this course.  I learned to not be afraid to display my ideas to a large audience.  I learned to believe in my idea and stick with it.  Failure is just a stepping stone to success.

  1. Hey Brandon,
I felt nervous about recording videos as well but once I got it over with i felt a lot better about the course and I think it really helps. When you come up with a business idea you should ask about 100 people before you invest a lot of money and time into it. My failure in this course was using an idea that I didn't care much about.

  2. Hey Brandon,
I completely agree with your description on failure. Failure is a necessary part of success. My mother use to tell me that the reason we fall in life is so that we can learn to pick ourselves back up. I also didn't do all of the video assignments and admit that it shows a fear of failure. When we move past that fear we can grow into something better. Keep up the good work and check out what I wrote about my failure: http://goobirs.blogspot.com/2016/04/celebrating-failure-week-13.html

  3. Hey Brandon,

I agree that this course can be challenging especially since you go out your comfort zone! Filming myself and people was a bit weird at first. I agree that dwelling on failure is not the best thing ever! I'm glad you picked yourself back up and continued on in this course.
