Upon looking back at my previous 40-something posts, it is actually really interesting to see how much I have progressed. My very first posts, i realized, had no substance to them. they were bland and difficult to read. I literally wish I could go back and edit them to make them much better. But I must give myself a pat on the back because as the semester went on my posts gained some substance and I was able to express myself much easier. From the trivial times when I was freaking out about getting the video customer interviews done, to the weekly Sunday routine of writing my chapter reflections. Those Elevator pitches and Venture Concepts definitely took a toll on me. But looking back to them, they helped me voice my concept for the whole world to hear.
The most formative experience has to be interviewing an entrepreneur. It was a great experience to talk to someone that has been such a big role model in my life. I worked for this man, I played Little League Baseball for this man, and his son is basically my brother. This was a very humbling experience for me. Speaking about humbling experiences, the most enjoyable experience for me, was the time I went out to explore another market. I came across some impoverished families and it made me appreciate what I am blessed to have so much more.
Of course I believe that I am truly an Entrepreneur now. I think I still have more to learn about the profession but this class really guided me in the right direction. I'm walking the pathway to more success and I am so excited to where it will lead me. I understand that mantra now. The mantra will help me in all of my future businesses.
One recommendation I would have for the future students taking this course is to stay on top of the assignments and never take them for granted. They may seem arduous and tasking but trust me they are put in place to build you up, not break you down. I am so fortunate to have taken this course and I will use this course to continue to want to be successful at everything that I do.
Brandon,
ReplyDeleteI too saw how much i progressed throughout the course of the semester. It was cool to see the mindset develop as my blog progressed as well. I too gave the same advice as it is truly key for this class. If you would like to read my blog please go to: http://mitchallenent3003.blogspot.com/
Thanks,
Mitch
I suggested the same thing to future students – just do the assignments and stay on top of them. I couldn’t count how many times I would come home after working for 10 hours and squeeze the assignments in last minute before 9pm. I definitely should have not procrastinated as much as I did and had the constant nagging in the back of my head over needing to complete an assignment. There really is no excuse to knock out most of the assignments early on before your other classes ramp up in the semester and you can coast through this class after putting hard work in up front.

Hey Brandon! I really enjoyed your post and think you did a great job! Like yourself, I feel like my entrepreneurship mindset really progressed through the class. I think I learned a lot, especially in time management. You are absolutely right in telling future students to just stay on top of the assignments. If you have some time be sure to check out my blog! http://biglilcut.blogspot.com/2016/04/final-reflection.html
ReplyDeleteHi Brandon! I completely agree with you on how much my posts changed during the duration of the class, the more I gained an entrepreneurial mindset the more I would write! I also suggested the same sort of thing to future students as it was daunting sometimes to know that there was a post due with three interviews some of the weeks. It's great that you feel like you've learned a lot from this class and have started to think more like an entrepreneur, and I wish you luck in all your future endeavors! Feel free to check out my final blog post, Hi Susana! It's great that you feel like you have moved closer to developing an entrepreneurial mindset as that was one of the key points in this class! I also feel like I have experienced more growth in my business mindset and that I have a greater understanding of what it means to be an entrepreneur. Your advice is also fantastic, I wish I had come into the class and heard that! Feel free to check out my last blog post, http://caitlinc12.blogspot.com/2016/04/final-reflection.html
