Idea Napkin No. 2

1. Who am I?

My name is Brandon Ewing, and I am a freshman here at the University of Florida.  I believe that my talents reside in the areas of leadership, speech, creativity, and writing.  My aspirations for this business is to set up my clothing trucks on major college campuses across the country.   I would also love to see my clothes in major stores in every mall and outlet nationwide.  Stores such as H&M and Forever 21 would benefit from having my clothes in their stores. Based on the feedback I received, I would just like to elaborate on my scheme of putting my idea into fruitition.  The clothing truck would allow for the absolute "experience" of Ewear clothing. It would just be the center in which I could promote my line of shirts, sweaters, and shorts.   My business would be my number one priority.  It would be my only source of income and I would be fully devote my time to the business.

2.  What are you offering to customers?

Ewear Clothing would provide high quality, low priced apparel for college students across the country.  These people would stand out from the everyday basic people on campus.  My clothing line as well as the clothing truck will provide a great experience for students to come to during the course of their day.  Based on feedback I realized that if I want to see my product in stores such as H&M I have to come to terms with the fact that my product will have to be made with low quality material.

3.  Who are you offering it to?

My product is for the students who are aspiring to stand out from the rest of the crowd.  My customers will be the innovative, future leaders of the world.  I am providing this product for people who are like me.  I always have goals and strive to be different from the normal people of the world.

4.  Why do they care?

Customers will pay me for my product because it will be something that they've never seen before.  It will be entirely affordable as well.  Nowadays clothing is so expensive and definitely not affordable.  Students are on ver low budgets when they're away at school, I am trying to provide them with affordable clothing that they can feel comfortable wearing.

5. What are your core competencies?

I honestly feel as if I have the gift of success.  Throughout my life I have always worked hard to achieve my goals and I have fortunately been successful.  No one can bring me down once I set my mind to my goal.  I will instill this into the creation of my company and use my talents to create the best product that I can.

Feedback memo
Basically the people that commented on my post wanted to know more about my "clothing truck" idea.  I tried to elaborate on this concept in my Idea Napkin above.  Others wanted to know how I would transfer my product from college campuses to major clothing outlets.  I must say that those were the only two points of feedback that I received on my post.  A lot of the comments were repetitive and I firmly believe that I addressed the questions asked.

I do believe that all of these components of the Idea Napkin go together well.  It allowed me to enhance the idea that I wanted to display to my customers.  It was a great template for me and I utilized it to the best of my ability.  I have no complaints with the 5 components or "questions" that we had to answer.

  1. Hey, Brandon. I appreciate your drive and seeming willingness to be a success and force for change in the world. Your concept is pretty neat, but I do have to question just one or two things. For one, where would these trucks be set up? Would they roam around campus? Clothes aren't exactly something that people buy on a regular basis, either. Would you see large spikes in purchases around certain times, and then dwindling sales for extended periods, because people take care of their clothes and don't need to purchase them consistently? What makes your trucks more consistent than just going to the Reitz bookstore/shop? How would you paint your brand as the brand that 'innovative, future leaders of the world' would be wearing?

  2. Hey Brandon! From what I understand you want to create your own clothes, that are going to be different from what we've seen so far, but still comfortable and affordable. I also have the same questions with MasterZaros. How would you market your clothes? Maybe you could start small at first and then develop. I'm sure your passion, drive and talent will pay off. You should also have a plan to on how to approach customers and how to start them buying your clothes. I know that a lot of people do not like change a lot.

  3. Hey Brandon! I think that this is a great, and very unique idea. The one issue I see with making your product so unique and specifically targeting people "like you" may hinder how this could be accomplished. Because of your specific goals as well as very unique and never seen before product, this would have a great amount of risk. If you have not already, your elevator pitches would be a great way to explain better what exactly you mean by people like you and leaders of the world as your targeted market segment. I think this is a great idea and I believe that with your aspirations you could pull it off!

  4. Hey Brandon, I think that there is a lot of promise for your idea in the clothing industry. Students in modern society are especially interested in maximizing their experiences, so buying clothing from an innovative new truck setting would be good for them. Keep going with this idea and good luck! Here's a link to my blog post so that you can check out my idea napkin.
